a bit about me and my approach
No two weddings are the same and my photography reflects that. Every couple is unique after all, so I will always aim to tailor my photography to capture the particular atmosphere and emotions of your special day. My style combines natural and posed photography. By that I mean natural ‘reportage’ photography, creatively telling your wedding story and recording the special moments. Together with informal, unfussy posed photography – family group photos and relaxed shots of you both together for instance. That said, I am happy for you to set the balance if you have a preference for either style. Some couples like lots of posed photos, others prefer mainly natural shots… the choice is yours

Before I became a photographer I worked as a designer in advertising and publishing which was a great grounding in visual communication. But I always had a passion for photography. So shortly after the start of the millennium (lol) I returned to college and qualified in photography and digital imaging. Since then I have worked full time as a professional photographer – so for more than 15 years now.
During this time I’ve had the privilege of photographing weddings all over Scotland. From grand gatherings in castles and mansions to intimate get-togethers in beach cabins and village halls. And from indoor weddings on cold, cloudy winter days to outdoor weddings under bright blue summer skies (and often vice versa).

So now, as an experienced wedding photographer in Scotland, I fully understand just how important your wedding day is, and also how stressful it can be. Above all, I understand that you want to relax and enjoy your special day. With this in mind I will always aim to be unobtrusive, amenable, calm, helpful and friendly. In fact, some of the time, you may not even know I am there – taking natural photos as the day unfolds.
By the same token I also understand that many people really dislike posing for photos. (To be honest I do too.) For this reason I always try to ‘keep it real’ and make the experience as much fun as possible. So any poses should feel natural and not ‘forced’. And similarly I feel that group photos should be informal and capture some of the character of those included.

about my wedding photography packages
As a professional wedding photographer in Scotland I believe it is only right that couples should get control of their own images. For that reason all of my wedding photography packages include your printable photos on a personalised USB memory stick or disc.
flexible coverage options
Choose the amount of photography ‘coverage’ that’s right for you. Whether you want coverage of the full day or just part of it, my packages offer flexible options from just two hours to full day. And, equally important, you also decide what time you would like me to begin – and your coverage time will run in a continuous block from then. (For example, 8 hours coverage starting at 1pm would run from 1-9 pm.)
complete control of your photos
As I mentioned, all of my wedding photography packages include your photos on disc or USB memory stick (your choice), as standard. In other words you’ll get the high resolution, edited digital image files (no watermarks) with license to print and share as you wish.
share the love with your personal online gallery
Also included with all of my wedding photography packages is password protected and ssl secured online gallery hosted on my website. Of course you will be able to share the password with your family and friends so that they can enjoy the photos too. In addition they will also be able to buy their favourites as prints, albums or photo-gifts through the gallery if they wish to. But that’s not all. You will also get a gallery admin key giving you additional features such as labelling photos and hiding ones you want to keep just for yourselves plus you can also download your favourites directly to your smartphone, tablet or computer at screen resolution. Ideal for viewing on screen and sharing on social media.
free covid amends
If you unfortunately have to reschedule your wedding due to covid restrictions I will be happy to move your booking to another available date at no additional cost.
optional extras
Video coverage: turn any of my wedding photography packages into a photo + video hybrid package. I will record the main events such as your ceremony, speeches, cake cut and first dance which happen during your chosen photo coverage time. Your edited video will be supplied on DVD or USB. Prices from £200. Get in touch for more details and prices.
Storybooks: If you would like a printed album you could add one of my storybook albums to your wedding photography package. Please see my Storybooks section below for more info. You can also order these through your online gallery if you prefer.
Should you require more coverage time you can add extra to any package at £90 per hour.

about my storybooks
I offer a Family Storybook (210 x 210 mm), a Deluxe Storybook (210 x 210 mm or A4: 210 x 297 mm) and Premium Storybook (300 x 300 mm). All of these storybooks have 24 pages as standard, plus a hardback cover. Additional pages can be added (in multiples of 4).
special 'open flat' binding
My Deluxe and Premium Storybook Albums have a unique lay flat binding were the printed pages are bonded onto card and bound in a unique manner so that, when opened, every page lays flat. This is ideal if you want to display a photo across a double page spread.
all inclusive prices
Storybook prices include design and layout of your selected photos (about 60-70 photos works well in a standard 24 page album); proofing; print and delivery. You can add a personalised presentation box for an extra £30.

doing things differently?
The law in Scotland allows for quite a lot of flexibility when planning a wedding. Perhaps you’ve opted for an unusual setting or maybe want to enjoy an unusual wedding day activity. On the other hand you may have decided to throw out the traditional schedule or adopt a specific theme. Great! Go for it I say – it’s all about you after all. So, if you’re following your own track and planning something a little different for your special day please get in touch – I love a challenge!
looking for something else?
If you are looking for a wedding photographer but not for your wedding day… dont despair! I have other options available. For instance, you may be getting married abroad and want a photographer just for your reception back home. Or perhaps your wedding day photos didn’t turn out as you hoped and you would like me to take some lovely portraits of you both in your wedding outfits. Speaking of portraits: you may be looking for a photographer to take some gorgeous engagement portraits of you both.
